If you're interested in such things, I have just updated my booklist. It appears to have been eleven months since I last looked at this, and as always, I've had to think long and hard about the books that I might have read in the meantime. I've probably missed one or two, but I've likely got most of them.
It's not a massively impressive set, to be honest.... but in my defence, at least six of those are whacking great big 700+ page slabs, and they take some reading. Lots of fantasy too, by the looks of it, which is a bit of a throwback to my youth. Still, the best book I've read recently was definitely "Goldfinch" by Donna Tartt. Magnificent.
I've got a bit of a virtual backlog on the go, with a new John Irving and a Paul Auster to read. Well, to buy and then to read, I should say. Ah, I'll get to them. That said, I did see an article the other day that said I've probably only got about 2000 books left in me, so I should probably be choosing them more wisely. As well as being a depressing thought, that's no way to live your life, is it? I might read Proust one day, but I'm not going to read any book just because I'm told that I really should. Life's to short to read for anything other than enjoyment, isn't it? If that's fantasy, then so be it.
Anyway. Pointless list updated. As you were.
